The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is a charity bike-a-thon across the State of Massachusetts to raise money for cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As a corporate sponsor for the event this year, Experian has had the honor of showing our support for this worthy cause in a number of different ways. The PMC, which has been held annually since 1980, will take place tomorrow, August 5. We have three employees who will be riding: Matt Chase, Wes Forsyth, and Steve Cargill, and several of our employees will be volunteering at the lunch spot we sponsored at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. We will be cheering on the riders and passing out water.
Leading up to the day of the event, employees from Experian Data Quality had three other opportunities to lend a hand to the PMC. In July, we sent employees to the corporate headquarters in Needham, Massachusetts over two days to help prepare volunteer T-shirts and rider registration bags. Today, another group of employees are volunteering at our sponsorship table at the kickoff event in Wellesley, Massachusetts at the Babson College campus. The staff participating in these days took advantage of Experian’s volunteer time off (VTO). As an organization committed to improving the communities where we work and live, Experian Data Quality provides the benefit of three VTO days. These paid days off enable employees to devote their time to causes that are important to them.
Each year, we choose to raise money for a cause that is of particular importance to our employees. As this year’s premier charity, we are donating our time, money, and also our software to PMC. We are helping PMC unlock the power of their data through Experian Pandora—our data management solution that offers powerful data analysis capabilities to help users gain greater insight from their data. With the help of this solution, PMC hopes to increase the number of rider registrations and continue to raise more money each year.
We are excited to help such a wonderful organization and to be able to support their mission with better data quality. So far this year, we have raised $7,000 dollars for our three riders! We wish them the best of luck as they embark on the route tomorrow.
Whether through our data quality solutions or our charitable efforts, Experian Data Quality is committed to creating a better tomorrow. We are honored to partner with some great organizations to make that happen.
