Experian Data Quality celebrates Patriots' Day

Patriots’ Day has always held a special place in the hearts of Bostonians—it is Marathon Monday. As a day that many have trained for, for months or more, Marathon Monday has a special meaning to every runner. Its meaning, however, is not reserved only for the runners. Whether you are attending the Red Sox game or cheering on friends as they jog the 26.2 miles, it is a day when the city’s abuzz and everyone participates. It is a day of stories and good times as our city community truly comes together.

In 2013, this day of significance became a day of horror, but one that brought the community even closer together. Boston Strong and One Boston are not just concepts; they represent a spirit that resonates in the hearts of the entire city. They represent the grit and determination of the Boston community.

As a company based in Boston, we feel it is important to incorporate the spirit of Marathon Monday and Patriots’ Day into our culture. This year, Experian Data Quality sponsored an employee incentive that would allow the winners to attend the annual Red Sox game. The winners were not based solely on revenue performance, but also based on peer selection. They represent the team players who were successful and worked as an integral member of their respective sales teams. They are the MVPs who were willing to work beyond their own interest to support the rest of the team—the true Bostonians.

The Experian Data Quality Social Responsibility Committee and Senior Leadership also wanted to determine a new way to remind the Boston office that Experian Data Quality can “participate” in the marathon, even if we are confined to the walls of our Summer Street office. On Friday, Gym Source dropped off a treadmill that was stationed in our lunch room. A staff-wide email went out requesting sign ups from the office to run one mile to cover the 26.2 miles that need to be completed. This was met with an overwhelming response across all departments. Monday, beginning at 9 am, the runners started the relay-style marathon, representing the race just outside our doors. As our Experian Data Quality relay marathon nears the finish line and the last .2 is completed, we will close our office for the day to celebrate our accomplishments and enjoy the sunny spring day. Most importantly, when we finish our goal, we will donate to the Pan Mass Challenge, another great local Boston organization that is close to our hearts.
